Who Am I?

 

   Hello… I’m Shalini   

The Blogger.

A small town girl, now in a big small city, married, far from naive and too honest for her own good. The word ‘now’ implies, I move around the country every few years, thanks to my husband’s job.

I grew up loving pink and had a huge collection of teddies, dresses, shoes, umbrella and yeah you name it, I had it in pink. Yes, the past involved excessive amount of Barbie love, though I never owned one. Guess, I love all colours except pink now. I hung out with the boys, was a tomboy, and though in my femininity, I was treated as dirt by the girls. I hated gossiping, shopping and everything they say ‘feminine’. When in crisis(read heartbreaks), I dance it out, eat chocolates, go sober and take a good nights sleep.

I’m erratic, impulsive, have a hard to tame temper. But, I’m effortlessly loving and buddy-buddy. I love sunset and beaches and can listen to the sound of wind-chimes forever. I own at least a dozen of them.

I love to binge-eat Peri-peri Fries, chicken popcorns, spicy Indian pakoras and what not! I constantly find myself swinging between diets and dance, not able to stick to either. I’m a coffee addict and the first thing I think of when I wake up is about that cup of hot coffee, even before checking my smartphone. That said, I’m a complete foodie and I believe, the way to my heart is through my stomach! I also love to sing aloud under the shower, ride my two-wheeler, click pictures and read. At any given point of time, I will have at least five books on my shelf waiting to be read, a load of laundry to be done, my white Labrador -Casper resting his face on my lap and my nose buried in a book.

Thus said, I am a voracious reader, movie buff, wannabe world traveler, dog lover, coffee addict and a music freak. In this space I will share a slice of my life and also my passion for books, movies, music, food, travel and so much more. I might vent out my frustration, give a sneak peek of the day I had or I can simply ramble on and on about anything. You know what? I guess this is the reason why you should read my blog!

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it. I have had the opportunity to know some brilliant bloggers and writers and also made many fabulous friends through this space. I hope I can lick into shape my writing skills and be a good poet.
