You’ve gone to a better world, they say
But then you’ve left me here
alone in the hands of this cruel world.
I hear your voice every passing second
Feel the hotness of your breath against my cheeks
What do I do to stop these never-ending tears
and a heart that beats your name.
****
I’m broken into bits and pieces
and want to tear myself apart
the heart which deeply, madly and fondly loved yours
now is left aghast.
****
As I stand here on this starry night,
Neither do I want to breathe nor do I want my heart to beat.
I look above to let out a silent prayer
And a small little star twinkle at me.
I know darling, you are up there
Whispering to me that it’s not the be all and end all.
I have promise in my heart and hope in my eyes
I will walk among the stars and the cloudless skies!
