Curtain Raiser #‎AtoZChallenge‬ Theme Reveal 2015

Before I reveal the theme, let me make a confession. I didn’t have the nerve to participate in the A to Z challenge this year, especially since I enrolled my food blog for the same and I know it’s going to be overwhelming. But then, there was my husband P and a couple of close friends who were after my life, persuading me to participate this year as well. All thanks to them that I decided to take part. Else I knew I would be dead as a doornail.  So, here I am! 🙂

So, what is A to Z? You ought to post a blog post each day in April in an alphabetical logic, say Day 1 post should be in A, day 2 in B… so on and so forth. It’s going to be devastating and hence Sundays are left out to have a good night’s sleep! Because you are going to blog, comment on your favorite blogs, reply to the comments in your blog and be mesmerized at the attention you receive!

Without much ado, here’s my theme for A to Z 2015.

Shakespearen Idioms

There are many everyday idioms and phrases which we use without even knowing that it has come from Shakespeare. I grew up hearing Shakespearean dramas and stories. As a child, I remember my Mom reading out stories of MacBeth and The Merchant of Venice during bed-time. She was is a die-hard Shakespeare fan and she still has that big book of original Shakespeare works. No, she is never gonna have me that even if I beg, plead or steal! So this is dedicated to my Mom.

My posts will be an Ala-carte of short stories, poems or a 1000 word write-up.

To make it interesting and fun, I’m going to write on 26 Hours Before My Wedding.

Let’s leave it with that with an element of surprise, shall we?

Stay tuned! Pen 2It would be fun if you send in your feedback on my posts in the form of comments, likes, follow ups and subscription via mail/FB/Google+/Twitter . I don’t have any intention to spam you.

Meanwhile, you can also hop in to my food blog to find out what’s cooking in my kitchen for the A to Z challenge.

P.S: I’m now called the Bard Babe! 😛

  12. I love Shakespeare! It’s so powerful to think about how, even though he very much wrote about people and subjects of his time, he’s ultimately a writer for all time. Those stories and characters resonate across so many cultures and eras.

  17. You know, the main reason I was skeptical on signing up for AtoZ challenge was the limited time available for me in the month of April to read and comment on other blogs. But after reading the themes, I guess even if I drop out of the challenge in the middle, I will find time to read your posts, all of your posts. 🙂 You got me hooked, Shalini. All the best for the challenge. Have fun. 🙂
