Bring It On, 2015!!!

A Trip Down the Memory Lane- Year 2014

How can I summarize my year 2014? It was definitely a roller coaster ride with its fair share of ups and downs.

As my blog took off to a brilliant start, I was exposed to a whole new world of words and friends. I enjoyed being an active member of the Blogadda community, winning 9 WOW posts, 3 Spicy Saturday Picks, 1 Tangy Tuesday Pick, Goodies for the Malaysia- Jao contest, Lucky Kanna of the Day on Star Sports India ContestRunners Up at the ‘Mardaani’ Contest getting a personalized letter from Rani Mukherjee and the ultimate- 5K Voucher for the ‘Skyscanner & I on a trip around the world’. I was also privileged to review few popular books as part of the Book Review organized by the community. Recognition for an amateur like me boosts my confidence. Or should I say over-confidence? Oh, whatever!! 🙂

April 2014, opened doors to the A to Z challenge and a completely different world of blogging to me. When I signed up for the challenge, never did I know that I would be part of the Write Tribe community and be friends with some fabulous bloggers who had already been pioneers in the field. I’m also a Book Club member reviewing some fabulous books.

I was also loved by the readers for the heartbreaking poems I wrote the past year. Guess I should be in a melancholic mood to come up with those! So, stay tuned to my posts, at least twice a week. And I won’t disappoint you!

I finally decided to create a place of my own for noting down the recipes I try in my kitchen. Things were getting messed up here at the Tomatoes, and so began “Something’s Cooking!” Take a look to see what’s brewing in the TomatoHouse!

Things took a backseat on my health, career, love and life! Suffering from Vital Conjunctivitis affecting my cornea for a couple of months, I began worrying whether I will be kissing goodbye to my career too. Things are fine now. And I’m back to my happy self- enjoying what I do and what I am supposed to do!

A friend of mine rightly said that I’m a butterfly cocooned as a lovebird! Well, I’m trying to do what I dancing_animation_by_sweetbabble-d4p5ixklove the most- to dance, to write, to cook, to smile- more often. I am a trained classical dancer and I have left it behind me since a decade. Couple of days back when I had a DJ party at office, I was forced to shake a leg with my friends. I was hesitant, but after a while, I let go…of all the fears and inhibitions. I danced like mad 😀 And guess what! I have fans @office now ❤ It was absolute fun when I taught my friends, all the popular dance moves from “Gandi Baat” to “Saree ka fall sa” to Tune maari entry” to “Dance Basanti” to “Yaar Na Miley” to “Bang Bang”. Oh, I rocked the show and the feeling I had was strong and immense.

The year also saw me heart broken and betrayed. December 1 took a dear person from my heart and December 10 took my favorite uncle from my life in the form of death. While the whole world rejoiced during the month of Christmas, I winced in pain with brutalities, betrayals and abandonment. But I learnt the hardest lesson of letting go. I realized how low I can stoop down as a person and how strong I can rise and face the world. I’m happy that I am Me! I am so in love with myself now and I’m so thankful for all the little things in my life. water

Afterall,

that matters the most in life!

So, Bring it On, 2015! I’m ready!!

  7. It’s been a bad year for me though there were some light moments. I also called it off quit with a so-called friend and it’s been two years kinda ordinary. Blogging and reviews saved the day. Happy New Year:)
