Liebster Awards #2 and #3

Wowwwww… I was so excited to receive this nomination yesterday, that too, two a day is awesome! I was am sick- liebsteraward-copycough, cold and running nose- a perfect combo! On top of that, it was hell at work. But getting the pop up on my phone was making me smile throughout the day. And this, made my day! 🙂 🙂

Thanks a ton to Shruti from CookingWithShruti and Aarya and Veda from TheFreeBird. They have such amazing blogs- When Shruti gets yu hooked with her amazing recipes and pics, Aarya and Veda makes you think after their posts. If you haven’t visited them, you MUST!! Hand Down! Lots of love… ❤ ❤ ❤

For those wondering what a Liebster Award is: it was generated in Germany(probably) and is a beautiful way of recognizing lesser known blogs. Liebster means “sweetest, kindest, cutest, nicest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued” etc. The rules ask you to thank the person who presented the award to you, have the award on your post, answer the questions that has been asked, award the same to upto ten other upcoming blogs, ask ten questions to them and list ten random facts about yourself. Cool isn’t it? So, here I go..

Answers to Shruti:

1. Why did you start your blog?

Started to share my cooking disasters- Newly wed, I wanted to keep an account of all my experiments and also, help other newly-weds- if at all they pass by my blog 🙂

2. Favourite cuisine?

Chinese- woww… yum!!! The honey-glazed prawns and dragon chicken top my list. 😛

3. Your life long dream?

To dance: Unfortunately, I don’t anymore and I badly wish I could continue till my last breath! They say, I have a gift, and I as well utilize it, r8? 😛 Oh, I got to stop boasting 😛

4. Drinks or Desserts?

Yes, greedy for both!!

5. If you could only watch one tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Confused between Friends and Grey’s Anatomy!! They are my all time favs and God knows I’ve watched it over at least ten times 😛

6. What is your favorite meal to cook?

It should be anything with Chicken- Hubby says he is confident to bring over guests/friends home, if there is chicken in my pantry. 😛 I can make awesome Biriyanis, gravies and starters. Wooohoo…. Am I again boasting?? Oops..

7. What is your favorite book?

An ardent lover of books, I read for sheer pleasure. And fav is “Gone with the Wind”. No comparisons! EVER!

8. Have you ever been out of the country?

Yes, Dubai and Maldives

9. If you could cook with any person, who would it be any why?

Never cooked with anyone- as said earlier, I started after the wedding. 😛 So, it was all me! And I guess, I don’t like to share my space with anyone. I’m possessive about my kitchen. If it is messy, then it should be done by me. At times, I feel so irritated when I don’t find my spice jars in place and I immediately know that my hubby darling has entered the kitchen (only to make scrambled eggs) 😛

10. Purses or shoes – which do you like better?

Well, both!! But a lil’ preference to Shoes… very lil’!!

My answers to Aarya and Veda:

1. Why did you start writing a blog?

As said before, Started to share my cooking disasters- Newly wed, I wanted to keep an account of all my experiments and also, help other newly weds- if at all they pass by my blog 🙂

2. If given chance, which fantasy world would you like to live in and why?  (I would love to be the part of Narnia)

My first response to this Q was- “Harry Potter”!! 😛 And yeah, Hermoine is not so bad, after all…

3. What was your first post on your blog?

My first post was on how to make “Chicken Sarka” and noone has ever read the post, I guess. 😛 I love this question! 🙂

4. What is your take on live in relations?

Solely depends on the individual, if you feel like knowing more about a person you intend to live with, then yeah, why not! Who’s stopping you!

5. Which is your favorite book and why?

As said, “Gone with the Wind”. I remember reading it after my 12th Std Boards. I found it laying on Mom’s cupboard(she is an ardent reader too). Seeing the size and no: of pages, I never thought I would finish it. But, I related myself to the main character- Scarlet O’ Hara- “I’ll think of it tomorrow, at Tara(her home). I can stand it then. Tomorrow, I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day.” The quote had helped me a lot. Doesn’t mean I keep postponing things, but when you need to take an important decision you need time! Oh, I love it!

6. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Love- no! There can be an instant chemistry/lust/infatuation.. But, not love! Not even when you see a cute baby- it wouldn’t be Love! 🙂

7. The top 5 destinations you want to cover in your life.

My thoughts are going haywire. It goes from Paris, Rome, Seychillies, Bahamas and explore each nook and corner of my motherland-India. Being married to an Army Officer, I guess the latter would be fulfilled for sure, in time. ❤

8. Which of your childhood memory is the prettiest one, please brief.

I remember dancing for the “Annual Day” in school. It was for the song- “Dola re..Dola” from the popular Bollywood movie, Devdas! The moment it finished, there was a huge round of applause and my Dad(who is a teacher in the same school), came running backstage to give me the best hug possible ever! I could see his heart swell in pride and I had a special mention by my school Principal in the Thanksgiving speech. He is a Naval Officer and I studied in a Military Boy’s only school. Being staff’s child, I got an admission too. Double joy! Special mention- I had a huge fan following from then 😛

9. What’s the thing you wanted most in your life?

Thing? No material things, I’m content with whatever I have. But, I always, always want to see my Mom and Dad smile. And I literally do anything they want. Sensitive? yes, way too much!

10. Which incident has touched you most in your life?

Mom diagnosed with cancer- never having a chance to come back to life. I’ve seen my Dad taking care of her like a lil’ child- scolding and feeding her after the dreadful Chemo. And we were two lil girls who didn’t know anything- rather, I was in my 12th grade but was never informed about the actual state. She has recovered miraculously and I guess, solely because of my Dad. Yes, this is the moment that touched my life- the moment when I realized their true love and devotion!

11. What’s your relaxing mantra?

A quick ring to my hubby, Dad or Mom. 🙂 My Dad says,” think about me, and all is going to be well!! ” ❤
