Well, another dull day…still with a bad headache and cold. I didn’t want to get up from bed too. Mamma suggested me to prepare Rasam with lots of pepper in it. It hardly took 20 mins to prepare. So, do try and let me know the feedback . And oh yeah, I’m feeling a lot better now.
Ingredients:
Oil- 3 tspns
Mustard and Jeera – a pinch each
Garlic paste – 1 tspn
Shallots- 4-5
Tomatoes chopped – 2
Rasam powder – 2- 2 1/2 tspns
Pepper powder – 1 tspn (I added a lil more, as it was good for my cold )
Coriander leaves and Curry leaves – as reqd
Fenugreek powder and Asafoetida powder – a pinch each
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat 3tspns of oil, add lil mustard, jeera and garlic paste. Add shallots and tomatoes and mix well. Saute till a paste is formed. Add Rasam powder and 1/4cups of water and mix well.
Add 3 cups of water to it. Add add coccum(optional). Allow it to boil till it is dried to 2cups.
Add pepper powder, coriander leaves and curry leaves. Let it boil for another couple of minutes.
Add a pinch of fenugreek powder and asafoetida too. Salt to taste.
